Welcome to the Colorado diesel forum, this smoke could be from a few different things. You could have a bad injector, the EGR cooler could be leaking internally or your head gasket could be bad. All of these are common problems with the 6.0 powerstrokes, when repairing these are a few things to do to upgrade. Call me at the shop and I can walk you through your options. As far as performance upgrades, there are many different possibilities. I would start with your basic upgrades, exhaust, intake and a good tuner. This makes most people enough power, but there is more if you’re looking for more.
